I guess that clears it up. Most casinos "don't permit" but now some do and some don't. And its simple as to why having some linked and some not, is because I want to be rated on my play, not combined play. Wait, you said that isn't it, but thats what I understood it meant when they linked them.
In some casinos it is more advantageous to have separate accounts, in some it's better to have them linked, and in others it's better to combine play on one account (as you mentioned). It depends on many factors involved with the player's club such as bounceback cash, comps, or maybe mailed offers. In the best scenario, one needs to have all possible information gleaned from the experience of others to make an informed decision. For example: Kewadin St. Ignace - Sends each of us some pretty nice bounceback cash coupons. It appears that level of play is unimportant once one passes the trigger point to rate these offers. Based on that, separate accounts are the best idea. Harrah's - They worship at the altar of Daily Average. If you visit a Harrah's property once to earn "Diamond in a Day" by churning $30,000+ through their video poker, you should NOT go back unless prepared to play close to that level again. Should you stop in to kill a half-hour with some VP at a later date, you'll cut your daily average almost in half and screw up your rating in a big way because you'll become a $15K player instead of a $30K player. For a couple, each should consider getting their own account with two cards for each. On heavier play days, use one account - and for lighter days, use the other. A pseudo-combined account situation. A downtown LV casino that I won't mention - We have separate accounts and don't bother with a Harrah's-style smokescreen because we each get mailed offers for room/food/beverage and bounceback that are generous enough for us. In addition, if we have friends along who could use the free room, we can both use the offers and help them out. Could a combined account get one offer that eclipses the two that we get now? Perhaps, but we're happy with the current situation and see no need to take that gamble. There is no generalized right or wrong way to set up your accounts, it depends on the situation and casino's policies. ________________________________________________ Back to St. Ignace - am I to understand that you'll pass on the best TBJ deal in North America because your wife can't get a waffle????
Guess we all base our opinions on our own experiences. The staff at St. Ignace has given me no reason to avoid their events. The criteria for being eligible is MORE THAN reasonable. As I mentioned, I've never been there other than "tourney time" and am not a VIP by any means. Like Leftnut and Deb, I pound the hell out of the vp that is close to 100% game when cash back points and coupons are figured in. I haven't hit a royal there for ages and only placed in the tourney one time (4 or 5 years ago) so making money isn't what keeps me going back! Billy C
As the saying goes: IF MAMA AIN'T HAPPY, AIN'T NOBODY HAPPY And just wait till August when Mackinac Island is open. It'll blow your socks off!
Is Monkey working for bjinsider? I had to purchase 1 year subsription to read his article ($19.95) I'm kidding, because I should have signed up before now. To Monkey, congrats on doing a good one and thanks for not reminding me that I was the "dummy" that forgot I had a power chip last time we were on same table. Now I stick it up my nose so it won't happen again! Billy C
Mackinac Island I would also recommend the Village Inn. They serve up a yummy whitefish sandwich. You can get a discount token for it at their bar and grill in St. Ignace. I also recommend a horse-drawn tour. There's also a store called "Monkey Business" where you can go to remind yourself of the guy who's going to win the next tournament.
Its just about lunch time so I could certainly go for something "yummy". But is it as yummy as the burger at S&I and is the ambiance as good? PS: Don't disclose what S&I stands for, or else it will be overrun with BJTers. PS2: What does the "Monkey Business" store sell? If its a good store then maybe my wife will accept that is place of the waffle! The fact that its a "store" goes a long way.
Monkey Business They sell embossed sweatshirts, t-shirts, and other apparel. Nothing could beat the ambiance of S&I, toolman! "Mmmm.... that's a tasty burger!" line from Pulp Fiction :joker:

Doug, it will be my honor to meet you at the March BJT in St. Ignace. Even though you hang out with Schultzy, which shines suspicion on your better judgment..... Looking forward to seeing everyone again after a really tough winter. Especially CP, just because he seems to be allergic to the joint any more. Perhaps a change is in order - "creeping panther" to "creeping chicken"???
