Why do you insist upon asking me questions that only a Venetian employee would have the answers to. It seems to me that I must repeat myself numerous times to you.I do not work for the Venetian nor do I need a room at the Venetian. Would you ask your John Patrick what to do with a pair of 5-5 against a dealers 6. You would I take that back. How about this question would you ask you car mechanic why you keep getting headaches every time you read one of my responses to your rambling post. ;)

    Be fair

Because you made a point that River Palms was 30% in fee which is an exaggeration. Are you an employee of TBJPA and able to remark on the event? NO. OK try this. Tex has got everyone players rates at the Palms that saves 120$ right of the bat even if you dont play. For those who do play it looks as tho much of the food will be comped. But heck its only food right! Now back to our math problem, the only extra fee is the $40 as an association fee so it is an extra. The casino fee of 10% per game is normal -(I even heard Palms LV was charging 20% for their weekly did you ever mention that?) Now Im sure you are trying to say the 50$ out of the big game is a fee but that isnt accurate because the money has value for the championship game. Its not a fee! But, lets let you count it. so the fees go like this

    15+30+15+40+50=$150

Now we subtract the off the bat savings of 120$

    150$-120$=$30

    Holly Bagels thats thirty bucks!;)

I looked the Venetian up on the puter and it said $350 a night! Maybe Im wrong tho and you can help me out:joker: I can only guess the only comp I would get at the Venetian 2$ BJ tables is a basic strategy card:yikes:

Anyway Joep maybe we will see you in Laughlin for the Sunday game. If you need directions all I can say is head towards Los Angeles to Barstow then take hwy 40 to Laughlin.:p We will see you there at 9am Sunday. But be warned, you will have to pay the 40$ to our association plus 10% to house.

Since you refereed to this as our association, I feel that I safely can ask you this question then.

Where is the Championship event that the $50 is being taken out for being held and on what dates? I would hate to have to pay in advance for something that not even scheduled and has no venue for it. Unless you and your association are keeping the date a secret from us common folks.

Barney your math amazes me,how could you subtract a discount without putting in the cost also of the rooms. Is this some sort of John Patrick math that you are using here.

When you have 3 tournaments with entry fees that total $ 600 and $150 of that money is being withheld there is no mis-representation of the numbers its a SOLID 25%

Now if every-time you pay the $40 you get a $ 50 discount into this unscheduled and no location tournament where is the money coming from then for this event.

Here is an example you can work on, lets say over a 9 month period 300 players pay the $40 fee which equals to 12,000 but now the 300 players get a $ 50 credit toward this unscheduled event this now equals 15,000 so your association championship event winner will owe 3,000 to your association. Now I'm sure there will be some entry fees collected for this event but it looks to me that it will start in the negative and that is not even counting players travel expenses to this unknown location.

When you were asking about the Venetian room rate did you not realize that the Venetian event is a one day event and there is no need for a room. But if a player wanted to enjoy the breathtaking city of Las Vegas and its charm one has many choices where to stay while in Las Vegas from $ 19 a night to a 5 diamond hotel like the Venetian.

When given the choice of 2-3 nights either in Laughlin or Las Vegas I will just quote a fellow tournament opinion on 3 days in Laughlin. He rather be in jail for 3 days than spend 1 night in Laughlin.:joker:

    Im nutin...

But a simple player I can only trust those in charge of the money and accept what they say. We will have an event in May of next year. I guess youre not impressed with my showing, using info from the calendar btw, that the fee was only 30$ when the players association room rate was applied. BTW FYI, I looked at Venetian page and it said $598 for Fri and Sat night plus tax of course! I never said the Venetian was a bad deal because the game is obviously a good deal. Im not happy about the planning of the event to be in direct competition with the TBJPA. Personally I think its fishy it appeared on calendar well after the TBJPA event on same weekend. But thats just the way it goes. Good luck to you, joe, and anyone else playing at the event.

I have to agree with Joep here, I see no reason to force every one to pay $50 for an event that is not even been scheduled to play anywhere and what if is was scheduled but there was a conflict and you can not play, do you get your $50 back or is it just a donation to build the pot for everyone else. I can just see the WPT or WSOP poker circuits holding $50 out of their tourneys and then telling you it will be applied to the year end championship event entry. That would fly like a lead balloon. If Barney Stone or Tex wants to increase the pot for their championship tourney for bragging rights just add to it out of their own pockets not other peoples.

I figured you would have no worthwhile response to my valid points. 1035 post and counting.
