Sault Sainte Marie is a town at the border of Michigan's upper peninsula border with Ontario (Canada) and is pronounced "Soo Saint Marie". The locals just call it "The Soo". There is also a town with the same name on the Canadian side. Billy is referring to the tournament being held there at the Kewadin casino that weekend.
A real man would play the Niagara event on Friday and then drive all night to make it to the Soo in time to play Saturday. I am not such a man
Thanks. I primarily play in (and have done well in!) the larger tournaments in Las Vegas and Biloxi. Fallsview looks interesting... if I could get into the April tournament on the first trip. I noticed someone was discussing a "midwest", "cross country" trip to Fallsview. How far west? I'm not too far out of the way... San Francisco Bay Area!
I think you're remembering my post about that. I'm guessing that you are only about 2000+ miles west of me. Wanna do it??? Billy C
Well... maybe we should skip that road trip! I'll probably see you at the Orleans in April or Westgate in March. I'll be at all 3 Beau Rivage tournament in February and March.
Not sure, but my next LV tourney might not be until December (Orleans). Getting out of business is more difficult and time consuming than getting in. I'm sure that I must know you. "Dakota" certainly rings a bell but I'm unable to put a face with it right now. Billy C
We were at the same table at the Orleans a couple of years ago and joked that we noticed both of our bets went up and down at the same times (wonder why?). Also, Rookie789 is a friend of mine.
Hey Dakota, I'm glad to see you start posting here. I haven't seen any recent posts from our mutual friend rookie. Is he doing okay? Sure hope so.
Hi Billy- I'm pretty sure I'll see him at the Hard Rock tournament this evening (I'm leaving the Bay Area in just a few minutes). I'll let him know you asked! John
It was a pleasure to finally meet you and you wife! Fish got knocked out of the semis on some tough hands. That's awesome news about the Friday start in Niagara. IS THAT HOW ALL FUTURE TOURNAMENTS WILL BE? I hope so.... It's a bummer that it's the same week as the Soo (Sault St. Marie). That is a tough decision as the odds at the Soo are better and it's closer. Niagara is a better destination, but I will most likely end up choosing The Soo.
Rather than Cadillac Tim, shouldn't it now be "MoPar Tim" or "Chrysler Tim"? That was a nice "ride" that we took to Rube's! Billy C
Maybe, Double Down coined me that so I'll probably stick with it. Thanks, that Varvatos 300 C is an awesome ride. Have you recovered from the Packers debacle??
No doubt! I'm guessing you're not rooting for the Seahawks.... I'm hoping for a good game, better commercials, and great food! See ya in March Biily!!
I wish both teams could lose as I'm not a Pats fan either. Only reasons I'll watch the game are the "pools" that I'm on and the commercials. Naturally there will be some food and beverage with friends. Happy Super Bowl to all! Billy C
