OK Blackjack Hey Rick. They have poker but it doesn't count towards BJ. The 3 Card Poker, Let it Ride, and Craps does. Of coarse BJ. What has become unfair is the higher limits of credits people can accumulate. At RR there is no limit and CN is 400. The limits use to be 300. I think it should be no higher than 200. A buy in might be good but that would leave it to the people with money. Right now the most it will cost you on tournament day is $50, if you want to pay. Hard to beat huge prize pool and free entry. Every quarterly has had several people that started with little and make it to the money (1-24) and some of those to the final table. Come on chickens.
Oklahoma Blackjack Tournaments Mailman, neither rain, nor sleet, nor gloom of night...(is that how that goes?) will keep Tx. and me away. We'll make it up there somehow, someway.
OK Blackjack Well, the reigning 3 time winner finally lost. He did make it to the final table. The guy who won only started with 2 credits. I've seen 3 people win starting with 1, one of them took first from me. Everybodys got a chance some better than others, so don't be scared. Even if you don't make it to 1-24 your name is in the pot just the same as everybody else, it doesn't matter what you started with. My wife finished 25 place, missed it by 10 to get in the $1mil. Still got two more tries.
OK Blackjack Played the RR quarterly Apr 23. Made the second round, but couldn't catch enough in that round. The players pool is usaully over $200000, but this time it was around $28000. What I heard was the craps table has been taking a big chunk of the money. I guess drawing a card instead of dice can pay. The RR has 3 3 card poker , 2 let it ride, 2 craps tables. They also put more BJ tables in the back. The next quarterly at CN is July 9.
OK Blackjack Oct 8 is the quarterly after July 9 at CN. That's two dates left to try, until next year. CN says they are going to expand their table games. Move into another room add roulette and spanish 21. Sometime this year.
OK Blackjack and $1 mil Anybody coming to next Sundays (July 9) CN quarterly ? Prize pool around $160000. Sign up ended June 30. Can hardly believe you guys are passing up the opportunity to get your names in the pot for the $1 mil tournament. RR's quarterly on July 23. Sign up started July 1.
Ok Blackjack CN players pool for July 9 tournament $167,682. 281 players. First round 12,1,2,3,4,5 o'clock.
OK Blackjack RR's quarterly July 23-24. First place $44000. Last day of sign up July 18. Info I got over the phone. I've had the last day of sign up change from what I was told over the phone. Sign up early. Another $1mil qualifier chance.
OK Blackjack I made a mistake. CN had 183 entries from 12,1,2,3 o'clock first round. First place $63000.
Hey Tx, have you been playing in OK? These sound pretty interesting. My schedule has been packed so I haven't even considered a trip.
Funny you should ask... I just talked to Swog about going up to RR for their weekly tournament on Monday (tomorrow 7/10/06). Playing in their weekly will also qualifiy you for their quarterly event and you don't have to play an hour instead. The tournament starts ataround 7:00 - 7:30 pm, the entry fee is $23.00 for 100 in chips or you may get an extra 100 chips for $10.00 additional ($33.00 for 200 chips). For the quarterly players receive 1 chip or credit for each hour they play (during the quarter), but if you play in the weekly tournament you receive 1 for just playing, you receive 2 more if you make it to the second round (total 3), and if you make the third round (finals - you get 3 more, total 6). Once you qualifiy for the quarterly you can pay $50 at the finals for an additional 50 in tournament chips. The weekly events are not that big, I was told maybe $600 for first place. Either Swog or I will post more about the RR event after we get back.
Typical casino...LOL Glad I called back to double check on the starting time for the RR weekly event. Turns out the weekly is on Tuesday nights and sign up starts at 6:00 pm. Everything else was correct they told me on my earlier call up there.
OK Blackjack and $1 mil Well, I didn't make it. But my wife made it into the money and qualified for the $1mil tournament. A guy at my first table started with one credit and made it to the final table. The same guy who won the first three quarterlies has also made it to the last two quarterly final tables. Starting credits have gone down with only 4/5 people starting with around 200. Everybody who survived with chips in the first round made it to the second round as wild card (24). Second round 10 wild cards cut off was 240. Had to leave before I could see who won.
We will be there tonight... BJMAILMAN will you and your wife be at RR tonight? Swog, Ladyg, and I will all be up there for tonights weekly tournament and check on the quarterly and yearly events as well. Hope to meet you and your wife up there tonight.
Oh my GOD! Swog, Ladyg, and I just got back from the RR casino....LOL. Boy do they need help with their BJ tournaments....WOW! The nicest things about going up to play their weekly event was getting to meet BJMAILMAN (very nice guy) it was all of our pleasure getting to meet you tonight. And that we qualified for their quarterly tournament in Oct. Other than that, what a train wreck! The tournaments were suppose to start last night (both Monday & Tuesday nights). Sign up starts at 6:00 pm, first round starts at 7:30, with three sessions (other two at 8:00, and 8:30). Entry is $23 for 100 in chips and than you can pay another $10 at the table for an extra 100 in chips ($33 total for 200 in chips), minmum bet is $1 to max $25, total of 21 hands. in the second round the limits are $5 to $50 and in the 3rd round (finals) the limits are $25 to $100. The deal does rotate, but the winning players carry over their winnings to the next round. Tonight they played with 3 tables, 6 per table, the top two advanced to the second round. Blackjacks paid double, you could split only once, but at least you could DD after a the split. Another strange rule was they offered surrender at the regular tables, but not in the tournament. None of us got out of the first round, all three of us had the lead with a few hands left and all of us couldn't catch the cards at the end to hold on. Now this was also strange, all three of us lost and they had empty seats for the last session, so we decided to re-buy back in (since we just drove 2 1/2 hours). We were told no! We were only allowed to try once a night only. As far as the regular tables, they were okay except for the $.50 ante from $5 to $49 and $1.00 for $50 to $200. 3-card poker you had to put up a $1.00 ($.50 each bet for pairs plus and ante). It was a nice drive up and back and the staff was very friendly, but they really need help hosting BJ tournaments. At least all 3 of us are in for the Oct. event.
OK Blackjack Sorry you three couldn't advance. Just didn't get the cards when you needed them. I made it to the final table for second place $347. The limits were 1-25 first round, 1-50 second, and 1-50 final table. For another $10 at the start of the second round you can get another $100. I was told the add ons go to the pot. Everybody who made it to the final table got a free entry to Sept 24 $120 buy in BJ Chopper tournament (cash and motorcycle). I didn't know about that until after the final table was done and they told us not to leave until we got our receipts for the Chopper tournament. An added bonus for me. Another good reason to play. At CN it is still 50 cent on the 3 card. Maybe better luck next time.
Way to go BJMAILMAN! Congratulations BJMAILMAN on making the finals last night and taking home 2nd place. Also getting a free entry into the Chopper BJ tournament was a nice little bonus. No problems here, I understand it was their first tournament. I am sure things will get better as time goes on. I'm sure if they had one of the managers in the pit last night that several mistakes could have been corrected before becoming mistakes. Thanks for the betting corrections for round 2 & 3. Since none of us advanced I was just going by what they told me during the first round. I'm sure we'll be coming up again before the Oct. quarterly.
OK Blackjack and $1 mil Anybody else coming for the $1mil tournament? So far TX, Swog, and LadyG coming to the Oct quarterly to get their names in the pot. And the way it has been going everybody who has played in one of the quarterlies will be in the $1mil tournament. So far it has only cost TX, Swog, and LadyG $33 to get into a $1mil tournament. Don't you think that is a great deal? So why isn't there more of you here? There is only the Oct quarterly to qualify till next year when it starts all over. I read all the talk about going to Aruba and paying the $2500 fee and the other cost to get there. That is even more costly than the Hilton. Here in Oklahoma you can theoretically make it to the final table of the $1mil for nothing. Play one of the free CN Tuesday tournaments for quarterly credits, play the quarterly, and then the $1mil. Or do like TX, Swog and LadyG. Hey TX you calling the RR Tuesday tournament a train wreck was harsh. The OK $1mil tournament is still one of the cheapest to get into. I don't know who but some TV crew is suppose to be filming the $1mil tournament.
Need details BJMAILMAN: I haven't been following this Oklahoma thread much since it seemed to far for me to travel. However, this million dollar prize peaked my interest. Could you give us a summary of what it takes to qualify for the million dollar tournament? Please give all details such as live table play requirements, quarterly tournament - how far do you have to get, do I need to go there twice to qualify (once for live play and once for the quarterly), etc. Also, and this may sound strange, the name of the casino without abbreviations. Thanks.
OK Blackjack and $1 mil toolman go to comancheredrivercasino.com then to promotions. To qualify for a quarterly at Comanche Nation or Red River casinos you need at least 1 credit (1hr live play). Or like TX, Swog, and LadyG did. In the quarterly everybody who makes 1st thru 24th are entered in the $1mil tournament and everybody else has their name put into the pot. 360 players from RR and 240 from CN. So far with all the repeat players management thinks everybody who has played will be in the $1mil tournament because they don't have 600 total different players so far. The quarterly tonight at RR had 330 entries. Entries have gone up. The first round was 9 sessions from 1-9, 2 advance, and 20 wildcards. My wife finished first at her table and I got second at my table (we have played the same table before and finished first and second). We play our second round July 24 at 6:30.
