Follow up Thanks for the info BJMAILMAN. I have a couple of follow up questions if you don't mind. Can this 1 hour of live play be done the day of the quarterly? This would avoid making 2 trips. I take it that the quarterly is played over a 2 day period. Is this correct?
OK Blackjack Quarterly credits are earned in their 3 month period (Jan Feb Mar, then Apr May June, then July Aug, Sept, then Oct Nov Dec) and ends at the last day of each quarterly month. You can play at both CN and RR. Sign up dates vary at the end of the quarter. Example CN ended June 30 tournament was July 9 and RR sign up was July 1-18 tournament July 23-24. CN tournaments are over in one day. RR takes two days.
Sorry about that BJMAILMAN! Just some of their rules need improving...LOL I couldn't understand not being able to re-enter when they had empty seats for the last round? That was the biggest issue I had with the tournament.
OK Blackjack Hey Rick. I know that sounds silly at first, but if they gave you a rebuy they would have had to offered it to everybody. That would of made it two three sessions longer. Anyway the main reason you guys were here was to qualify for the quarterly. And that you did. Now to play against you in Oct.
I'm getting there BJMAILMAN: I think I finally got it. As I see it, to qualify for the quarterly you must do one of the following: A) Play in a weekly. As long as you play in a weekly you get to play in the quarterly. You do not have to finish in a particular place as long as you play a weekly. B) Earn 1 credit by Sept. 30 in order to qualify for the Oct. quarterly. Is this correct? If so then 2 separate trips are required and a 3rd naturally if you make the finals.
Hopefully 3 trips! Toolman you need one hour of rated play or entry into one of their weekly tournaments to qualify for the quarterly tournament. In the quarterly you need to finish in the top 24 to qualify for the million dollar tournament. I believe this is correct, BJMAILMAN correct me if I am wrong. As far as the reentering the weekly events, that is just part of most weekly tournaments. They don't have to offer reentries to everybody, only reentries to fill up the first round tables. Reentries are just on a first come basis, that is why players normally try to play in the earlier rounds. If the tournament tables were filled of course there would be no reentries, but when there are empty seats they should be allowed to level the tables and add more money to the prize pool. I'm not just picking on the RR tournament, I also think the LV Hilton should offer either reentries or re-buys to the players as well. I hate traveling for a do or die one round chance to advance. Knowing I can have at least another chance makes a tournament more inviting for me to travel to and as long as all the extra money goes back into the prize pool I just think reentries or re-buys should be allowed.
OK Blackjack For any of you that might be coming to the Red River Monday and Tuesday tournaments (for quarterly points/cash and the entry into the Sept 24 $120 buy in) it has been filling up by 7:30pm. Sign up starts at 6:00pm. Max 63 players, they like 54 players, 6 per table, 3 tables for each 3 first rounds, second round 3 tables 6 per table, 2 advance first and second round, then final table. With everybody at the final table winning free entry into the Sept. tournament interest has picked up. That will be around 120 payed for entries over $10000 prize pool, more with people paying the $120.
Comanche Red River Casino, Oklahoma BJMailman: I went to the Comanche Red River Casino website and was not able to "see" any information on a Monday or a Tuesday Blackjack tournaments. Nor did I "see" any info on the September 24th ($120 buy-in) tournament. I have a few questions which I'm hoping you can provide the answer(s). (1) Monday and Tuesday tournaments: - how much to enter? - re-entry? - how many decks? - prize fund? + Will "winning" or placing (up to what finishing position?) gives someone the "FREE" entry to the September 24th tournament? + Will "winning" or placing (up to what finishing position?) gives someone the "FREE" entry to the OCTOBER QUARTERLY tournament for the Million Dollar Blackjack tournament in December 11-17, 2006 - OR, is this a completely different matter? (2) September 24th ($120 buy-in) BJ tournament: + I understand that one can qualify to this tournament by "winning" either the Monday or Tuesday tournament. - how many decks? - what is the prize fund? + Will "winning" or placing (up to what finishing position?) in the September 24th tournament gives someone the "FREE" entry to the OCTOBER QUARTERLY tournament for the Million Dollar Blackjack tournament in December 11-17, 2006 - OR again, is this a completely different matter? (By the way, September 24 is actually cutting-in in the ARUBA UBT BJ Tournament [September 23 to October 1]). Any clarification/information you can provide will be greately appreciated. For your info: I plan on being in Oklahoma (CRR Casino) from Sept 15 to Sept 21 (to "earn" hours for the October Quarterly) but might extend my stay to September 25th based on your input. Many thanks......... napodot

OK Blackjack When you go to Comancheredriver.com click on promotions. Not much to see but its there. I was told cash and motorcycle. This ones a lot easier on your wallet than Aruba. Another tribe is building a larger casino on the same road less than a mile from Red River. After that is built you'll have more choices. The new River Wind casino in Norman I here is a good one, biggest in OK. 219000 sq ft. Anyone been there?
OK Blackjack The Red River Sept 24 $120 buy in also has a $120 rebuy. If you make it to the final table on Mon or Tues you get an entry. If you do it again you can use the second entry for your rebuy if needed. Info is slowly being released. More as they tell me.
OK Blackjack The Monday tournaments at Red River have been cancelled to find a better day. The Tuesday tournaments are still on and fill up fast. Low attendence on Mondays. Still no new info for the Sept 24 tournament.
Yes, 6-deck shoes and 6-deck CSM. Minimums start a $5.00. Dealer stands on soft 17. The penetration looks like it's about two decks worth of cards. (If I'm calling that correctly. Please excuse me if I'm mistating something.) Some of the dealers are fairly new, but nice. Haven't noticed any ploppies. People give advice only when asked, and if a player is playing poorly, people move from the table. I've actually made money more there than anywhere elas I've played (not that I've played many places, lol!). Hope that trend continues. haven't seen any scheduled tournaments, I hope they do. Website is www.riverwind.com
Also, you can split, including Aces 4 times. (I split 3 aces there. Got 21 on two and a hard 17 on the third. Ended up pushing on the 21 and losing on 17. bummer!) DD on any card.
OK Blackjack The Red River got rid of their CSM and other shuffling machines. Except for 3 card. The Comanche Nation still use their shufflers, not CSM.

Don't know when the first round assigned playing times will be posted. Will keep informed. You can try to call RR but only a few know anything.
The Cherokee in OK is having a tournament. Since I'm not an expert on tournaments, could you tell me what $2,000 add-in means? Is that what you need to pay to enter? $2,000 Add-on, $100+$10 Buy-In
OK Blackjack Usually that means money added to the pot. Kind of small for $100+20 buy in, but any money added is good.
