    No player to deal to!!!

The ONE main pt that u r missing is that a "playable bet " WASN'T MADE... an illegal string bet was made and the dealer handed back all of the chips EXCEPT one just as he was suppose to do. NO HAND WAS DELT THUS FAR and the player threw in his hand and left the table (something that i see done at least 2 or 3 times @ ever tournament i attend...saw it happen twice just yesterday at the Beau tournament). Therefore no hand can be delt to that spot because THERE IS NO PLAYER PRESENT...and this particular tournament doesn't and never has delt a hand IF THERE ISN'T A PLAYER THERE TO PLAY THE HAND which makes it impossible to "SCOOP" a hand if a hand isn't delt...

    Casinos may differ on rules

Since there is no single source for BJT rules, casinos can differ on their rules. I have seen, in a tournament, a dealer take a min bet chip from a stack of a player who wasn't present, place it in the betting circle, then deal to the absent player's seat. The hand was then declared 'dead', and the dealer removed the chip from the betting circle. That was the rule in that casino for any hand where a player was absent. If a player missed five hands in a row, they were disqualified. This included not only the start of the tourney, but covered any player who left the table during the play. What was the specific rule in the casino in this instance? Did they follow it? Were the players informed of the rule before the tournament started? Were they fully informed when the incident occurred, as to what the rule was and how it was being applied. Those are the relevant questions. meaningless to debate this without some answers to them.

    Rules

I agree with RKuczek regarding casinos have different rules, which in my gambling experience, not only differs from company to company but country to country even ,in some cases, from pit to pit in the same casino !! So, having said that, the wise thing for anyone playing in any particular tourney is to READ and UNDERSTAND the house rules of what particular casino you may be playing at !! If you don't, at least do that, then you only have yourself to blame when you don't like a ruling. Nobody likes to be told that what you are used to doesn't fly here but "build a bridge and get over it"....anyway there will be another tourney down the road !!.....just saying !!
