accumulation & elimination questions Won't survivors of the accumulation stage be among the entire group's high scorers? Is a player's final accumulation score determined by simply adding together their two scores from each round? Or by the average of their two scores? During the elimination stage, will at least one player from each table be advanced? Is the advancement decision made based on the results of 25 hands having been played? Why do you think casinos don't typically post more tournament info on their websites along with answers to the commonly asked questions? Thx
Yes, to survive the accumulation portion you'll need to amass chips that are among the top 35 scores of all players at all tables. They add your two scores together to get your rank. Once in the elimination phase (semifinals), one player will advance from each table, so you need only beat the other players at your table.
Change in prize structure Deltaduke, Your post to the events schedule shows a new prize stucture for the event at the Grand in February. First prize is now $100,000 instead of $60,000 and the rest of the final table has been reduced substantially to offset the increase. I wonder if this will increase participation? Pat
Entry I just verified that I have a room at the Grand for the Sheriton Tourney, which supposedly put me in the tourney automatically. No playing time was mentioned by the host. Am I to get a playing time when I get my room? I'm a bit nervous about driving all that way to find out the tourney is full, even though I have a room. Ken, did you say it was about full? I have tried more than once to actually talk to a host at the Sheriton, but I've had no luck. Jimmy
Playing times will be given once you arrive at the Sheraton. Still, if you haven't actually spoken to someone at the Sheraton, it's probably prudent to check again. I bet you're all set though.
Ken I see now I was looking at your post about the Gold Strike, not the Sheriton. However, I do know they are now out of Grand rooms for the Sheriton event next weekend (at least for the mortal players, like me). Thanks, Jimmy "I haven't seen a bet I didn't like" (my new postscript:laugh: )
