    Mid day St Kitts Update

We are playing the 2nd round of the 2nd St Kitts 540 event as I'm reporting this.

There was a classic matchup in the first round that many are calling the toughest UBT Tournamnet table ever.It is for sure that but it may be an all time toughest table .So as you can see there are no home town table draws on the UBT Tour

    Seat 1 Joe Pane
    Seat 2 Robert Blechman
    Seat 3 Russ Hamilton
    Seat 4 Kenny Smith
    Seat 5 John Ressman
    Seat 6 Anthony Curtis
    Seat 7 James Grosjean

Ok on to other activities the scheduled volleyball match was rescheduled until Thursday morning as there were some UBT Teams members out chasing monkeys around the island and the monkeys won.....

Tonights Karoke contest is still on after all the one table and 540 tournaments are completed

Yesterday there were 20 one table tournaments bring the over all total to 62 for the first 3 days at this pace we will surpass the Aruba tournament

Now back to Ricks question the best way to find something out is to ask out in public and not through PM to Ace because Ace is not here 24 hours a day keeping total number of players accounted for.

But based upon the prize pool in the first 540 event that will help in discovery motion that you have filed.

The exact number can not be determined as players from the casino who didnt travel here for the UBT Tour are also playing in the 1 table events through out the day But please be sure the final numbers for players will be made public when the exact count is determined

Rick I hope you now understand what all of us here through me are trying to report back to the rest of the members accurate reports.

But to say that Russ called you the other day to let you know that you can call upon him is just not the TRUTH and you know that. If you would like me to publicly post why Russ had to call you ,let me know and I will.Or you can if you feel the need to.....

Maybe I'm lucky not to go

After seeing this kind of line up maybe the BJ gods were being good to me after all. I forgot this the "live" UBT is much different that the "online" EBJ. Thanks for the update Joe only one problem - where's the pictures?

PS I hope you didn't hurt any little monkey today did ya?

Thank you fg42 for the information on the secret bet (Nice to know that with everything going on in the states regarding gambling) you guys are still prepared to help out the Europrean players with their questions.

    Andy.

Ps Let us hope that our Joep does not disgrace himself by singing "New York New York" out of tune at the Karoke. God, I'm cringing just thinking about it

    Secret Bet/Secret Action:

k41 and one half: Your post was the first I'd heard about the secret action. Interesting twist. However, I believe you excluded two possibilities in the first secret bet option and they were "double" and "split." So...
    1) Secret bet:
Bet amount from min to max. (secretly)

    Then A: Hit
    B. Stand
    C. Surrender
    D. Double(again secretly for any amount within specified increments
    Or possibly for nothin?
    E. Split(for same amount as originally bet)
    F. SECRET ACTION(Would it specify Hit to 19? In D and E would have to specify the action and the amount. Is there that much room on the card?

    Radio Ga Ga

I just listened to the latest Be In Action radio show via the Anthony Curtis site.

Someone on this site called in from Florida who had recently been over to Aruba.

Not a word of malice came out of his mouth and he sounded such a really nice chap.

I wonder who he could be?

Splits are not concealable. If you want to split, you must do it in the open, though you could use a secret action card to conceal how you play the resulting hands.

Doubling for zero (and initially betting zero) is allowed when you use your secret bet or secret action. The nice new feature is that no matter what action you choose, the dealer gives you a card. That way noone knows what you chose at all.

    LOL, What did I do?

LOL, my question, Joep where was my question posted? You better go back and read the posts again, I was not one of the ones who asked you how many players were there. Yes, I did ask Ace for a head count in a PM to keep it off the open forum, but you want to included me in the ones posted on the forum...lol. If I post anything on the open forum you get mad, and now I ask a question on a PM you get mad.

Rick I hope you now understand what all of us here through me are trying to report back to the rest of the members accurate reports.
LOL, what the hell are you talking about? Joep I haven’t said or posted anything about St. Kitts, but positive things and I haven’t reported anything from there so no, I don't understand what you are talking about.

But to say that Russ called you the other day to let you know that you can call upon him is just not the TRUTH and you know that. If you would like me to publicly post why Russ had to call you, let me know and I will. Or you can if you feel the need to.....Joep[/quote]
Joep, you do what you got to do, but what I posted was Russ called me and made that offer to me, nothing else. If you noticed I never posted a thing about the call until you brought it up. Neither I, nor several other members here understand why my name was brought up in the first place.

I’m sorry but I can’t control other players asking questions, but by avoiding their questions and trying to blame me, just seem to be making players wonder if something is wrong.

If my positive UBT St. Kitts posts are making you feel uncomfortable I’ll stop, I don’t want to upset you.

    Ken's Explanation:

Just wondering how the secret bet, or secret action could be for zero, as I speculated, when otherwise in the rules, it must say min to max bet with specified increments. No?

    A Sick Sick Final

I'm writing this report from the karoke party and its not a pretty sight as some of the worlds worst singers are in attendance.Im on Hollywoods lap top so I'm not sure if some weird stuff comes out of me please forgive me as it is Hollywoods laptop.Right now as I'm typing this Dave is doing duet with Robert Williamson and its a rap song so use your imingation

So to just let you know that I have made peace with the chief monkey here on the island and he has removed the vodoo spell .Well at least i thought he did.

I made a sceond Final table today 2 for 2 I hope i didnt use up all my "LUCK"
    :joker:

Actually is was the the wildest and craziest final table I have ever been part of

    The Finalist were

    Seat 1 Joe Pane

    Seat 2 Previn Makodi

    Seat 3 James "Ace" Donovan

    Seat 4 Kasey Thompson

    Seat 5 David Matthews

    Seat 6 Hollywood

It as wild and not for the feint of heart as Kasey bets 25 K on hand 1 and the rest of the table just held their breath.

Dave who bet 3K on the hand out of 100,000 bankroll tried to screw with Kasey who had a 20 and he split his 10-10 against a dealers up card of a
    6. you already know what coming ...........The dealer made a 4 card 21

On the next hand Kasey is steaming and Dave is being Dave and really getting on Kasey it was pretty funny .

So Kasey say I will show you and bets 75 K and is dealt a solid 20 against a dealers 10 .Kasey jumps from his seat when he gets his 20 and starts hooping it up untl the dealer shows his 10 up Kasey turns away from the table as not wanting to look and when he looks back he believes the dealer has looked and he is safe but the dealer wanted to wait for kasey to return before he flip over his Blakjack OUCH.......Of course we told Kasey that was the first time in blackjack history that a dealer ever slow rolled a player with a snapper. It was pretty funny and everyone watching was busting a seam except kasey

The rest of the tournament was just one sick hand after another with violent swings and MONSTER BAD BEATS. If i wasnt on the table I would have enjoyed the show but it was sick and I who had made peace with the chief monkey thought I would escape the carnage that was about to happen. It might be better if either Dave or Ace told what happened to me but it was SO SO SICK .........

On the last hand it was down to Previn and Dave with Previn having a 61,000 lead 240,000 to 179,000

Previn had a secret bet and used it betting 60 K

Dave had used his on an eariler hand so he split his bak and bet 89 K

Previn was dwlt an Ace -9
    Dave got a blackjack

Previn DD for 60 K face down
Dave DD for the full amount

    Previn received a 3

Dave got a 10 and the Dealer had an 8 up with 3 in the hole and ended the craziest final table i have been on with a 10 for a 21

Oh yes Dave caught a 10 on his Blackjack DD

    Sick Sick SicK

    6th Place Kasey

    5th Joe Pane

    4th James "Ace" Donovan

    3rd David Matthews

    2nd Previn Mankodi

    1st Hollywood

    Congratulations Dave

Nice win today, congratulations. Thought you may like to hear, while I was up in Oklahoma tonight (at a WSOB qualifier) several players asked about you.

Seems you have a fan base in Durant, Oklahoma...LOL

They remembered me from my cowboy hat, Swog wanted to throw-up...LOL and they asked about Regina (they had two blinded players up there).

Anyway good luck the rest of the week.

    Bad Beat Joe

It really was a hell of a day and a hell of a final table. Four really grueling rounds of play.

I'll keep it short, since it's 4 AM and tomorrw is the longest day here for all of as as the main event starts early and the freeroll is in the evening and the stellite situation is close as well.

Here's the Readers Digest version of Joes' bad beat (and mine to a certain extent).

I was first to act on the elimination hand 8. Casey had already knocked himself out. David Matthews was BR1, I was BR2 with $123,000 or something close to that (Previn and I just drank a few more beers before this so my memory is a little cloudy), Hollywood and Previn were BR3 and 4 (don't remeber which order) and Joe was BR5 with $91,000.

I secret bet $66,000 (side note Joe had me pegged almost perfect on it as he thought I'd bet $33,000 or so to leave me a double situation...I did the reverse and planned on being able to surrender down to $33,000 if the situation arose). Everyone else bet semi low to mid and Joe went all in save $1000. I won't bother too much with the others cards as they really didn't matter to what happend except for Hollywood.

Cards come out, Joe pulls A-9 and I pull an 11 while Hollywood gets the snapper on his mid sized bet. Dealer shows a 4. I'm first to act and secret action a double down for $0, which is basically just a hit. Hollywood ends up putting me on something lower and decides to double his BJ to get more money on the table (this turns out to be big).

Joe feels he's looking good until the dealer flips it and ends up turning that 4 into a 21 beating Joe's 20. I don't specifically remeber Hollywoods card, but whatever it was, it would have helped Joe if it went to the dealer. If the dealer makes a hand of 20 or less, Joe wins and I'm out as my card on my 11 DD was low. If the dealer busts, Joe and I advance and Hollywood is out. As it turned out, Hollywood escapes, Joe is out, and I'm severely crippled from the big loss but advance.

It was a bad beat and Joe was not happy about it. Took him about 5 or 10 minutes to cool off and then he was back to see the rest of the action.

And by the way, Joe did not do it justice how amazing the slow roll on Kasey was by the dealer. If there ever was a dramatic moment that would have worked on CBS, this was it. Kasey jumped up in adulation of his 20 and screamed out something like, "Now I'm back in it!!". The dealer looked and put the cards back down and did absolutely nothing for what seemed like seconds. I don't think anyone at the table was expecting anything else to happen. The show roll was soooooooo slow that it was out of control and just made for an amazing moment. It was especially big because Kasey had been making huge all in bets all night, often on hand one, and having it pay off. This was the time he got burned. It was rough.

Once again Joe great update. Are you trying for a co-anchor job with Max for next season? You've got my vote boss!

Hey what is the point update? Are these 540 events counting towards the points too or is it just the 120 SNG?

    Hey Dave,

about time Boss! Good job. I can just see you busting Kasey's chops on those two hands! No flying chairs I hope!

Keep it up guys - good representation at the tables.

I guess you can stop "monkeying" around :joker:

Am I reading this right Hollywood wins a tournament? Shitzambam! Nice!

Because they only report what they want to report, from down there, I did a little simple math and maybe Im right, 48 players yesterday in the 540. Not bad considering I have been to so many tournaments that cant fill to that. Wonder how many bought in with their own money and how many are employee/sponsered? So Ill break out the estimator speculator. If they have about 50 in the 540 there we should see multiples here in USA and very much so Vegas and Barona. I remember the 1st prize was about 13K, so maybe here in south west it will be in the 50K range. My goal is to play a couple sit and goes at Barona and see hoe it feels.
