Thanks for the memories ! Over the years, the Stardust provided a lot of us many opportunities to actually win a major tournament. Certainly their tournaments could not be considered "open to all" but they were well organized and the Monday reception banquet was second to none. Made a lot of tournament friends over the years, particularly in the 1990's, and given the state of BJ tournaments today, I sort of miss the old place.
OK Joep and Hollywood, get it out of your system, let's hear the rejoicing but keep in mind that you do not speak for everyone.[/quote] How could you miss a joint that would not give everyone a fair chance to play. Isn't a fair tournament one that is available for all to play in . Now I can't speak for Hollywood but I NEVER played blackjack at the StarBUST. I gave them my rated play at games like Dice, Pai-Gow, slots, all games that have a built in house edge . They still would not let me play even after that. You see I was allowed to play until I won 100,000 in August of 2000. Then my play that was sufficient prior to my win became not good enough. After my win is when I was barred from playing any further tournaments there along with 2 of my friend who happen to shake my hand after my win. Imagine that shaking someones hand is cause for expulsion. In a side note both friends that were barred along with me are not nor have ever been advantage players in any form .Their only crime was being a friend of mine. How could you miss a place like this . This casino would fit right in Iraq when Saddam was in charge. Now I would be remiss if I said I wouldn't miss something about the Starbust .I will sadly miss the tournament banquets that I along with other barred players attend whenever we can .We try to sit at the same table so that they can take one BIG family picture. Blow the place up and let the party begin :celebrate
Everyone has their opinion I understand where you are coming from. This forum is great for expressing one's thoughts. On that we must agree!
