I have a previous post under this catagory....I tested the seating problem the last 4 hours...using my wife's account...I was seated in sit&go tournaments at seat #6 EVERY time...not bad for me...but it is a glitch in their random seating software....they have a bug in the system...they need to fix it!!!Mikey754

 

Yep, there's a glitch in there. Even the ploppies are commenting on it lately in the chat window. It's not perfectly constant for me but I am getting seat two 80% of the time. Of course, I'm not complaining too much, since I managed to get by 12 consecutive daily qualifier tables in the UBT freeroll games - all sitting at seat two.

 

How to get a good seat?

I speculate that your seat assignments will probably improve after one of the following actions:

1) Make a large deposit to Bet21.com

2) Sign a contract becoming a name player with markeeting clout

3) Date a member of the aboriginal tribe that owns the site

For the record, 1 SD is about 70%, 2 SDs is about 95%. So if you have a 5% chance, you're outside of 2 standard deviations. 1 in 2 billion is five percent divided by 100,000,000. So, yes, you're well outside 2 SDs ^_^

I just ran a test at UBT site....

I joined 20 TEC games one after the other and as soon as it started I hit absent and resigned up for another game...

Here are the results of a 20 game sample by seat number....

Notable are the missing seats of 5, 6 , or 7.....

Never got those seats even once!!!!!

Those who claim to see no issue simply are not keeping records I think...

Try UBT site and see what you come up with....Its same programing as Bet 21 in fact they added the seating change first at UBT site followed weeks later at Bet 21...

Anything less than random in this game should be unacceptable to anyone risking any real money... If this is being allowed to happen then what else may be going unnoticed???

I find the sample large enough to convince me that the seating assignment part of this program is BROKEN!!!!! I especially find it troubling since I am getting the rotten seats every time!

Someone has to be getting a string of 5,6 or 7.....I dont suppose these folks are complaining all that much....

Dont just post here that you see no problem ....test a run of 20 TEC games....maybe I am just getting that improbable string????

I'm getting the 5,6,7

most of the time, but it doesn't seem to do me anygood. I'm in my worst dry spell ever.

I don't think I had seat 1 or 2 in a long while. When they move me to the right (not often this last week) I always seem to end up in seat 3, rarely in 4:joker:

 

If we compile all of Rando's and swog's data, we have 56 games with zero placements in seats 5, 6, or 7. The odds of such a thing happening are:

1 in 40.75 trillion

Anyone left unconvinced?


There are some other interesting, low probability streaks in their data. From Rando's second set of twenty, the odds of being seated in a given seat 7 times in a row are less than 1 in 110,000.

From swog's, the odds of being seated in one of just two seats 12 times in a row are less than 1 in 275,000.

 

20 SnG test

I did 20 SnG's with these seating assignment results;

after tonight, I'm out until this is fixed

I am still getting rotated between seats 1 and 4 about 90% of the time. I have not seen seat 7 since the software update. We'll see how it goes in tonight's $25k tny, but I don't think things will change. If that is the case, tonight's $25k tournament will be my last tournament (no SNGs either) until they fix this glitch.

As others have said, if seating is no longer totally random, how can I trust the cards are?

This really sucks, since all I ask for is a fair game. If one isn't being dealt, count me out.

My results

I was bored so I tested the UBT seating as well. I talked to Swog and told him besides checking where we got seated each time to tried and get the players in seats 5, 6, and 7 as well. I also noticed that on the waiting list it was skipping players, I saw this several times along with me getting skipped for the next game 6 times in a roll going to game number 20. I mentioned this to Swog as well.

I notice that out of 25 games I only had CarolC, Ann, and Bubba_Claud play against me more than once. I thought this was strange also.

Maybe the seating has something to do with the player’s location? Not sure, but it is not random, that is for sure.

 

So when someone like swog and I -- who are obviously on the 1-4 rotation -- play at the same table as another 1-4 player, one of us is forced to get another seat assignment. That probably explains the few instances where I have gotten seat 2 or 6. There can only be so many two-seat-rotation combinations ( I count 21 below), so we're bound to be at a table with other players with the same combination. I wonder if we each have a "primary" seat number and only default to our "secondary" seat number when playing against someone who shares our "primary" seat number. So who are the lucky ones with the 5-6 rotation? I've seen BJMACE in that rotation. I wonder if he's had a good week.

My "pre-determined" seats are 4 and 3. Mostly 4.

This is what I like about this site. Players discussing what is happening. I was not a believer that anything's up, but I've been reading the thread, soaking it up, and now here's my test done on UBT moments ago:

It looks odd I agree as the results keep coming in. Two points:

1. I have kept track of my last 8 B21 games and they are more random: 7,3,1,2,2,5,3,4

2. There is an assumption being made on this thread that freeroll UBT programming and B21/UBT programming are the same and from numerous other empirical observations I've made, I do not think that is the case.

Thus, it's hard to tell what's going on--but there's a glitch somewhere it looks like.

On a sidenote on another favorite topic--ploppy play--I couldn't resist playing a little when my silly max bets caught traction. As a result I also picked up 3 TECs during my 15 min. test...(!)
