Update From The Palms UBT Main Event

is, terrell owens, one of the 62 at the "big" event. guess he did not make the final table. man, how did he know that there were to be only 62 players at the "big" event? but, then again, "TO" does not eat much and has the travel book on finding cheap buffets in vegas.

I called first...

I called Ms. Jade first today to see if she knew the results from the Palms. When I got the results from her it was when she called me back.

 

Let me give everyone an accurate update from the Palms as a lot of information is missing.

In my Final Table

Robert "Back to Back" Blechman won his 2nd Tournament in a row at the Palms. His first was an exclusive invite in February with a 200,000 prize pool and Robert won 100,000.Todays event was a scheduled UBT Tour Stop that was open to all. Robert victory today will be in my opinion a pretty good show as the play and the banter between the players was entertaining, it will air on CBS TV in the near future.

I personally finished 4th after losing a crucial big bet on hand 24,leaving me as the low bankroll after Annie Duke who finished 5th, went all in and lost on the same hand. I will have exact details and add my analysis of all the crucial hands in my monthly column "House Of Pane" that appears monthly in the All In Magazine.

In the Second Final Table

1st Tameka Jackson.........She also finished 2nd at Barona on Thursday A Great Weekend for her.

2nd Freddy Deeb..... Played well even though his game is poker

3rd Skip Samad......The cards stop talking back to him at the end as he lead early with Big Bets from seat 1

4th John Ressman who lose some big bets trying to catch the eventually winner who on one hand had a 40,000 bet received a pair and wound up with 120,000 on the table out of her 124,000 bankroll.She never lost the lead after that hand

5th David Marsh who won his seat at a UBT satellite that was held in the Pacific Northwest Casinos name I'm not sure of.

6th Ken Cash who was dressed in a It's Einiger Time Hat and was the www.PlayUBT.com Internet winner

7th Christian Leinhos who found himself in seat 7 and the low bankroll on hand 8 the first elimination hand moved all in and was beaten.

Congrats to Robert once again for winning it. You should never leave Palms, it's magic for you. (BTW, Robert told me he had a special shirt ready for TV if he made it...can't wait to see if he wore it) :laugh:

Nicely Done

Congrats go to Skip, Joe and HD for finishing in the money this weekend at the Palms. Thanks go out to Rick for giving us an early update on the first table results and Joe for filling in more of the details later on the first table.

Nice going HD, Skip and Joe! Not a bad payday either.

 

Joe never volunteered to provide that and I wouldn't have much use for it if he did. But he did say he'd answer all the questions he's been asked and we're all still waiting.

 

Barona sent promo materials and invitations to its players while the Palms didn't seem to do any of that. (Please correct me if anyone received any mailings or offers from the Palms about this event.)

The Palms doesn't seem to treat its players as nicely as Barona. Well, anyone who ever stays at the Palms knows it tacks on a telephone fee to your hotel bill (room might be comped but not telephone, even if you never use it.)

It's a good thing the TOC will be at the Barona and not the Palms (or Venetian.)

David won a seat to the Palms from the Iron Horse Casino up here in Washington. Iron Horse will be holding another tournament to send players to the Barona Ranch September UBT tournament. Congratulations to all that made the Palms final table and to all players that made it from the Iron Horse Casino.

Yup, that was my Deb who finished 3rd. But, you're being too kind, Joe. The reason that you AND Annie Duke busted out was some rather...... ummmm..... er........ let's just say imaginitively creative strategy on Deb's part.
