    Winstar blackjack

I've been playing poker regularly at the Winstar for over 2 years. They did get some bad publicity over slot jackpots that they refused to pay because of "malfunctions".

I very seldom play blackjack there because they charge an ante for each hand and they have mostly continuous shuffle machines. As far as the "hot seat" promotions go I just remember the $500 hot seat promotion they had a couple of months ago. No one really knew how they picked the winning seat. I had a friend who plays 100/200 a hand and he asked when he was going to win a "hot seat 500" and he got the very next one.

I've already qualified for the month:joker: ly poker satellite and will attempt to make next month's blackjack tournament.

I was told that they are currently constructing an 800 room hotel and will be expanding the casino a great deal. I'm not a slot player but friends who are say the machines probably pay out half what Shreveport/Las Vegas pay.

    Good luck to all

    Greetings,

New on the board here... I was in the 4th round at WWCS and had the unfortunate position of playing/acting 1st in the 21st hand of round 4. I was a marginal chip leader (forget by how much exactly) but bet fairly aggressively, knowing everyone behind me had enough chips to eclipse me...but then again 3 out of 4 made it, so still not sure I shouldn't have bet $25 (minimum)... Basically, I busted, and then other 3 players won their bets (as dealer eventually busted, and they all 3 built hands 17-21 somewhere) and so I basically got 4th out of 4 and eliminated... Think it's just bad luck that I was the only 1 to lose the hand, and all 3 opponents won in that final hand with me having to act/bet 1st :( ... Oh, well... I was down playing on the tables yesterday, and have already bought a chip for $250 from a player who won a HotSeat and couldn't make it 4/11... Be there next time!

    DLC

TO anyone who got top 5/6 or whatever... Where did you guys go and what did y'all do? Was the "Finale Split" interesting? Did the low card drawer have to really choose one of the others "randomly" or by choice? How did that all work...just curious as I hope to be there next time:rolleyes:

They used hand-shuffled 6 deck shoes (I played and got kicked out round 4)

There were certainly not 360 players... My guess is more like 200 TOTAL, and of course 180 of those were the freebie HotSeats, and then probably only 20 buy-ins, I guess (someone may have the actual numbers). It made the odds a LOT better...for instance, round 4 (if you got through this round, you were guaranteed a money-back return of at least $500) was basically 12 tables of 4 players, and 3 from each table advanced...top 36 got money back at least ($500), and so there were 48 players in round 4 and 36 in round 5...of course Yours Truly was one of those unlucky bastiges that got kicked out of the easiest round :(

Already got my 4/11 chip, tho!

    DLC:)

    Few answers...

The three Winstar casinos are actually 3 pits in the same casino in Thackervillie, OK.

The number of players is still questionable for last weekends tournament, but I do know it was a smaller turnout then expected.

The location and final split and anything that happens over the weekend with the finalist is not to be advertised. I can tell you that the players come back to the casino to finish filming on Sunday night, so no one will be flying home until Monday.

Yes, the player who draws the low card does HAVE to play one of the other players and the loser is put into a playoff for the August finals.

    "Secrets"

I understand about the "Finale Split" and all that being "secret" or "unadvertised".... Just thought I'd see what I was missing:laugh: ...

I'll be there next time...hope I get there...crash course in tournament strategy is something I need...I had studied some, and am a good Bjack player, I think, but the betting strategy / situational betting amounts were becoming blurry after a while since I hadn't eaten, etc... Just need to eat a big meal just before the tourney starts...that was one of my mistakes!

I got busted out in my first round;) Had to go all in against crazy players? I'm guessing I need me some schooling too! It was fun and I'll be in the next one as soon as I score a chip!

Gook luck to everyone (as long as I advance).

Winstar tournament - "The Split" $50 discount

Here is a link to last months event with photos.

    http://www.winstarcasinos.com/WWCS/The_Split.html

This is the tournament that cost $500 + $50 for the entry chip. If you are coming in for this event and are willing to pay early I can (or normally can) get you a entry chip for $500 (save you $50 per chip). It may be to late to get one for the April 11th event, but if you get hold of me at least two weeks before the May event I should be able to save you the extra $50 per chip. Just PM me if you are interested.

    Correct

Yes, Stanley Roper is the same person from the Tulsa events.

I do know the player who won the first qualifier (Don't know his name) was the one picked to play the player who drew the low card (Dantreal Cannon).

Dantreal lead the 10 hand match from hand number 1 until the last hand, where the first player went all in on and Dantreal (betting 2nd) made a horrible mistake by not at least matching his bet (Dantreal had the lead and last bet). When the dealer busted Dantreal gave away the win.

That horrible bet cost Dantreal a seat in the August finals and a guaranteed $10,000 minimum, plus a new Chrysler 3000 (about $35,000 to $40,000 value). That might have been the worst betting mistake I have ever seen in all my years of tournament play.

    Correct: Are You sure?
