    Yes! Yes! New Brave Life!

Amazing what some consider excitement. But, then again, if one were frozen in a glacier for 2 millennia, watching a flower bloom......STOP!(Oh no, that's too esoterically powerful)......Nay!

Watching the grass grow would qualify as esitement. And craziest hand WOULD be the dealer hitting out to push you.

And to one of your alter egos, 15 split personalities, entourage leeches, my response to "Who the hell are you?" Is I am Noman.

But as I live in a civil society I learned to read, write and speak and learn certain etiquette for social situations(such as not typing in all caps in message boards or chats. Common courtesy and civility. And long ago stopped trying to insult someone by either mispronouncing or writing their name. You know, that one skill of reading.) So as not to come off as a total buffoon.

    St. Ignace for 2008 WSOB

St Ignace is planning on awarding a WSOB seat but that will be for the 2008 WSOB. Little is known about the details at this time but I reproduced a posting by DanMayo as follows:
Next year they will be giving away one seat to the WSOB. The initial details of what will take place as explained to me were:
    1. Weekly Saturday (one day) Tourney for $25 buy-in.
    2. No package deals (rooms or food) as previous years.
    3. Those making it to the final table in a weekly will be invited back in November (2007) to play for the seat in the WSOB. (one seat)

    Hey Slim

    Slim,

Good to see you are still around. I don't think I saw you all of last year?

Anyway, what Toolman quoted me posting is my current understanding. This came from Peggy. I would imagine that we should be getting a mailer with details at some point or I'm sure they will update thier website.

If I hear any updates I will post. We might be planning a camping trip up that way in the spring to play.

    Take Care,
    Dan

    Dan,

Good to here from you also. I have been around, I just never made it to St. Ignace for any tournaments

I have played at all the other Kewadin Tournaments however. I took Second in Manistique, and made the Semi's at the two Christmas Tournaments.

It sounds like you did well in St. Ignace this year, Congradulations!!

I will be back in St. Ignace next year trying for the WSOBJ entry.

    See ya there :)

    Slim

    2007 Qualifiers:

Well, here we go, yet again.
Dates and sort of locations are listed and posted. but, no consistant rules. No gaurantees. And so far all Indian with no recourse.

I'd consider a circuit trip to qualify, but don't want to travel expecting a bouquet of roses only to get a brer rabbitt brickabriar bush.

Really late to the party here but did anyone notice how the following quote is impossible?

I believe you've been deceived by the Attack Of The Capital Letters. I'm pretty sure the intended meaning was "The dealer showed a seven". :D

Is it just me or does this event seem somewhat less than it was last year?

My nearby casinos have nothing this year but even here there seems to be a lack of news, stories, etc....

Was it a bomb last year? Wheres AOL? ...the events in AC sound like a waste of time...and it seems that there are some small events in the rattlesnake regions of USA but where are the worthwhile events being held...???

Or is it going back to the "invited hotshots event" that it has typically been in the past?

These shows are wearing out certain faces and the boob factor is becoming laughable....

Is this how poker got its launch into the big time?

This should be a big news, big event type of thing , hype, country wide schedules,etc...

    WTH promotes these things ?

No, it's not just you. Some of the casinos that held WSOB qualifiers last year (mainly Indian) have found that it just doesn't pay so why bother. I speculate that the one time visitors that came for the WSOB didn't give enough side action to warrant a repeat performance. Add to that the fact that the TV presentation was lack luster and basically a non event. The WSOB promoters did, and currently do, a poor job. Also the places to qualify are few and far between and often at casinos where you don't want to play live games anyway. Add it all together and you get a great formula for stimulating no interest. Nice job WSOB boys.

    Qualifying event

Ken posted a list of qualifying locations on an earlier post.

The main event will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton around the end of January 2007 (tenitively scheduled, I heard).

    Good luck qualifying.

    Congratulations

Good luck johnsonlmi. The WSOB is a blast, it was one of the best BJ tournaments I've ever played in and the GSN staff really treats you great.

It is also nice getting to meet all the other players from around the country and exchanging BJ information and stories.

Not to mention the WSOB currently offers the 2nd biggest 1st prize payout of $500,000 (really possible $550,000), only behind Barona's Million dollar 1st prize events (which require $100,000 credit line to play).

Hopefully I can still win my way on at one of the other qualifying locations.
