Come join us on the BJ cruise...

Paul come on the blackjack cruise in August 12th to 17th out of Jaxsonville, FL. We'll have three tournaments during the cruise and you'll have plenty of chances to play different players on the ship head to head. Like I posted earlier, I'll even give you a try head to head.

I will have the tables and dealers on board so we can schedule some matches for you and others besides the 3 main tournaments.

And you'll get a Bahamas cruise out of the deal as well and get to see John G. (Stacks) the 3rd place finisher on your table at this years WSOB.

    Tex

""PS. I understand several of the players can't make every tournament or even 7 of them per year, but the players who want to be called "Pros" shouldn't have any problems making "Only" 7 tournaments per year. If they can't than they shouldn't call themselves "Pros"""

This is a great idea to establish a circuit for blackjack tournaments. Tex I think you at the forefront of a good thing, altho BJ tourney will never match poker because poker is a contagion that is a good home game, BJ isnt a good home game. But I would consider the investment cost here, this has little entertainment value as opposed to your cruise that has good entertainment value. For example, for me to fly to east coast stay at a casino I have no comp value at and take my wife it will cost big money and then that must be multiplied by at least 7 tournaments. Im guessing at least a 14 grand investment probably much more. I would think about setting up regionals. For example you could hit LV, Laughlin, Reno, and maybe a Washington casino because BJ tournaments are hot there for a western region. In mid west you could go Minnesota, Iowa, and down to Texas Etc. Three regions West, Central, and East. At the end of it all you would have a championship in one spot.

    Just a thought

Actually I think BJ is a good home game.

I set up a home tournament at a party I had last week and it went down a storm. Everybody had a great time and we are doing again in about 3 weeks. We played 2 heats, then a final and I threw in a bottle of champagne for the winners. I think they are probably easier to run than a poker tourney.

    Cheers

    How about San Diego?

Maybe Max Rubin could get Barona Casino interested in participating.

    That would be great!

I'd be all over that, I loved San Deigo last year when I went for the first blackjack cruise.

I have heard only nice things about Barona and Max is a great guy and a hell of a promoter.

This is a very good idea!

    Thanks.

Go to the cruise section on this forum

Great, we would love to have ya'll, the more the merrier.

If you go to the cruise section on this forum it will give you all the information you need.

I believe the cost is $395 + taxes per person based on double per cabin for the cruise it's self.

The entry fees are $300 per tournament (3 total on the cruise).

Plus a one time fee of $80.

And re-buys are $150 and drop by $50 for each additional per tournament. Example: $150, $100, $50.

We hold a very player friendly tournament and several new players will be in attendance plus a few very good players.

We allow talking and even help other players withh advice while at the tables, but only after the hand is played out.

My name is Rick and my number is 1-866-TEX-TOUR (839-8687) toll free if you have any questions.

Cabins are very limited so book ASAP.

    A Must Listen

If anyone happen to miss last night radio show it is up on www.LasVegasAdvisor.com the link to the show is under gambling info on the home page

I will tell you this its a pretty funny show with Hollywood Dave & Paul "The Assassin" Hass really slugging it out.

Kenny and I really enjoyed hosting these two proud and stubborn guys who would not give up an inch to each other.

They actually committed to a heads up winner take all match

Glasses were thrown and shots were fired but no one really got hurt you really need to listen to this show.

    Yes!

Yea Joep if you want to deal I'll have you share a cabin with Swog on the cruise.

Call me and I'll get you Jim Thomas's info so you can give him all your information.

Walt, Gflan, Monkeysystem, LHENRYC, Sozzie, and many more are going to be on the cruise this year.

All tournament tables have to be over with by 6:00 pm at the latest - per Carnivals rules. So we can all terrorize the ships casino of a night time...LOL

    Bouncer/Dealer

Rick that will be great .The reason that I offered to deal was that I could also be used as a bouncer in case things between The Assassin and Hollywood got out of hand .

But can we do anything about me having to room with Swogger

I might opt to sleep on a beach chair on deck instead.

Let's see a match play showdown

Joep, your suggestion for a match playing the same cards was right on. I beleive I heard Paul say he would play any format--community cards, whatever. :whip:

A series like the pool tournaments on ESPN-- a race to seven where the first player to win seven heads-up rounds takes the prize money--with community cards and alternating first-button position (a la alternating break in the pool game) surely would determine the best player. :D

I just had a conversation with a reporter from the St. Paul Pioneer Press - They got a press release from Mystic Lake and are doing an article on "The Assassin". She got my name from this web site and called to ask my thoughts on him since I had played against him at Mystic.

I also gave her the URL for the radio show. She hopes to run the article next week. She said she would call me when it's available. I'll post the URL here once I have it.

    Could be an interesting read.
