Reachy what hand are we talking about?

In my initial post I commented on the last hand in the 1st semi final of the world series. Where BR1 doubling down with hard 15 against BR2's double of 9 was better than standing. Later I said that BR1 should always double even with hard 19 against BR2's double when BR2 ends up with a STIFF.

Ken Smith gives his figures for an infinite deck for the world series situation that I couldn't get until I realized his figures were for rules calling for the dealer to hit soft 17. In the world series the dealer stood on soft 17 when Pat (the grandmother) was knocked out on the knock out hand. Substituting this change in rules my results then exactly matched Ken's. Below I give the prercentage of BR1 winning for infinite deck and 6 deck for both sets of rules for the world series final hand. The 6 deck figures are pretty close but not exact for reasons that I discussed in another thread. S17 means the dealer stands on soft 17; S18 means the dealer stands on soft 18 (therefore would hit soft 17). H16 means BR1 hits until he gets a total of 16 or more (or busts trying)

    BR2........50,000+50,000.........4+5........Doubles

    BR1........50,000..................10+5........Action?

    Dealer..........................2

    .........................Infinite Deck....................6 Deck........
    .......................S17..........S18.................S17........S18

    ....Stand..........44.94.......45.00...............44.76......44.81
    ....Srrndr..........44.94.......45.00...............44.76......44.81
    ....H16.............46.74.......46.79...............46.53......46.58
    ....H17.............46.88.......46.93...............46.67......46.71
    ....H18.............46.93.......46.99...............46.72......46.77
    ....H19.............46.88.......46.94...............46.67......46.73
    ....H20.............46.40.......46.46...............46.20......46.25
    ....H21.............45.73.......45.79...............45.55......45.61
    ...Double..........66.40.......66.47...............65.98......66.05

These I the figures I got unless I made a clerical error in copying then from the results.

Specify what situation you want (how many decks, dealer hit or stand on soft 17, dealer up card, BR2 cards, BR1 cards) and I will explain how I got the answers. I use a method different than others but the results should be the same.

    Right you are.

Sorry for the confusion BlueLight. I incorrectly recalled WSOB as an H17 game.
