$100,000 Blackjack Tournament - Horseshoe Southern Indiana

  • General:

    Details:

    Entry Fee:
    $ 500.00 (Re-Entry: $ 100.00)
    Most of this information is from their last tournament in
    Sept., 2010. They have been consistant in their prior
    tournament so any changes should be minor.

    NOTE: ALL TIMES ARE EASTERN

    Player's Card required.

    Telephone number, to register, as listed on their web site
    is wrong. The correct direct number to the casino is
    1-888-259-7278

    Registration (without an offer code) is probably best
    accomplished by going through the Poker Room or talking to
    a casino host.

    Walk-in buy-ins on Feb. 19 are possible only if open
    positions exist. Many players (probably more than half)
    will be fully or partly comped into the tournament.
    Walk-ins should be available since their tournamnts are
    rarely (if ever) full.

    Their last Blackjack Tournament (Sept., 2010) was held in
    the poker room on level 1 so that is were it probably will
    be held this time.

    Re-buys only available during Round 1 and are based on
    seat availability.

    Friday - Feb. 18: Pre-Registration in Council Bluffs A & B
    6:00pm - 9:00pm

    Saturday - Feb. 19:
    Seven or Eight sessions for Round 1 will be played
    starting at 2PM and then every hour on the hour. 7 players
    per table with 3 advancing per table.

    Sunday - Feb. 20:
    Round 2, 12:00pm
    Round 3, Time unknown
    Semi-Final, Time unknown. Reading the literature "between
    the lines", the semi-finals may be "one-on-one" but not
    sure.
    Final Table, Time unknown
    Awards Ceremony: Immediately after Final table - could be
    as late as 7:00pm

    In the Past:
    6 deck shoe.
    15 hands per round.
    BJ pays 2:1
    Minimum bet is $25 or $50
    Max bet - none. Go "All In" at any time or all the time.
    No chip counts by the casino.
    Play on Poker Tables so counting chips could be tough.

    Wildcards are a definite possibility for Rounds 2, 3 and
    the Semi-Finals. Most likely, no wildcard for the Final
    Table.

    Prizes:

    3rd Place:

    4th Place:
    $ 7,500.00
    5th Place:
    $ 5,000.00
    6th Place:
    $ 2,500.00
    7th Place:
    $ 1,500.00
    The 7 players from the Semi-Final round who do not advance
    to the Finals or are not selected as a wild card will
    receive $500.

    There is no mention of any minimum number of players. So
    I'm assuming the prize pool is guaranteed. They do not
    specifically use the word "guarantee" but they have paid
    the full prize money in recent tournaments even if
    attendance was low.
